If you’d like to use the MYTHIC D6 game system for your materials, Excellent! There are two ways to do so: the Fan license and the Official license.
Fan License
If you’d like to create fan materials for free, you can use the “MYTHIC D6 Fan” logo below. There is no cost to this, and you don’t need to submit anything for approval. In doing so, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1) Khepera Publishing grants to the licensee the non-exclusive, non-assignable license to reference the MYTHIC D6 Rule System in their game, adventure, supplement, sourcebook, or other free product.
2) The Licensee agrees to use, unaltered in size or dimension, the “MYTHIC D6” logo on the front of the game packaging, manual, CD cover, “Splash Page,” or other “front” display.
A high-res PSD of the logo can be downloaded here: MYTHIC D6 Fan ZIP.
3) The Licensee agrees to place the following notice in a legible format and a conspicuous location.
“This game references the MYTHIC D6 game system, available from Khepera Publishing at http://www.kheperapublishing.com. MYTHIC D6 and all associated logos and trademarks are copyrights of Khepera Publishing. Used with permission. Khepera Publishing makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, viability, or suitability for this product.”
4) Licensee indemnifies Licensor, other licensees of the Property, their officers, employees, agents, licensees, and assigns, and holds them harmless against all loss, damage, injury, and expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees, from any breach of this Agreement.
5) The Licensee agrees not to reproduce material from the MYTHIC D6 rulebook or any other copyrighted work without the express written consent of Khepera Publishing or the copyright holder.
6) Khepera Publishing reserves all intellectual property rights to MYTHIC D6, including, but not limited to, all copyrights, trademarks, hobby game, publishing, entertainment, licensing and merchandising rights.
7) Khepera Publishing reserves all rights to its Intellectual Properties, including those used as examples or illustrations in the MYTHIC D6 rulebook, promotional material, or published works. This license does not allow any derivative works based on other Khepera Publishing products, lines, or properties (such as Terra Oblivion, GODSEND Agenda, Project Mythic, IRIN, etc.). Neither does the license allow works based on licensed properties published by Khepera Publishing. The user of the license agrees to be responsible for obeying the laws regarding the Intellectual Property of any other entity.
8) The licensee agrees following to the “Aww Hell Naw, Karen!” rules (See Below).
9) The Licensee agrees not to charge or accept compensation for the product in any way, shape, or form.
10) Khepera Publishing reserves the right to revoke or alter any aspect of this license as it deems necessary.
Official License—For Publication
If you want to sell your work, you must apply with an email.
Once we grant your company the license, you can make whatever you want without submitting it for further approval, as long as you follow the guidelines below.
A $100 License and Development Fee.
There are many free licenses out there; MYTHIC D6 is not one of them. Mostly the fee is here to weed out those not serious about producing a quality product. Also, the fee gives you access to the layout files, graphics, and our knowledge and expertise during the approval process. We want to help you put your best foot forward and are willing to help where we can.
Quality Production Values
With an official license, Khepera will provide a uniformed trade dress and a layout template. The work doesn’t stop here, any product carrying the MYTHIC D6 logo must hit a certain level of quality. A rising tide lifts all boats, and an ugly boat will make the entire fleet look bad. Before any approvals are given We suggest you send an email with sample links of the professional quality artwork and content you plan on using. We would love to see it, and it helps with the quality control. This is just as much for you as it is for us, no one wants your quality licensed product sitting next to a product that’s slapped together.
Some Initial Advice below for more details.
Once your product is underway, we highly encourage you to let our fans know about it. As part of the license, we will encourage our fans to look at your products and direct them to where you sell them.
And while this is not a requirement, we’d sure love a copy of your work for our collection, personal enjoyment, and so that we can tell those we meet at conventions and stores about it. PDF or print is fine!

“Material within this product is reproduced with permission from Khepera Publishing from (insert source title here, for example, MYTHIC D6 core rules, or Project: Mythic, GODSEND Agenda, etc.), available at http://www.kheperapublishing.com.”

5) The Licensee agrees not to reproduce unauthorized material from the MYTHIC D6 rulebook or any other copyrighted work without the express written consent of Khepera Publishing or the copyright holder. For a detailed list of Authorized Material from Khepera Publishing, see Licensee Authorized Material.
8) Khepera Publishing reserves the right to revoke or alter any aspect of this license as it deems necessary.
9) The Licensee agrees to the “Aww Hell Naw, Karen!” rule*. We want an open and inclusive playing environment, and we want our products, and products associated with us to be inclusive, multicultural and representative of all people. Objectifying or shaming of people’s bodies, hurtful content describing a person’s culture, or any bigoted or racist material is unacceptable. We are here to include and celebrate people- ALL people, and that includes you, me, people of color, people of different sexual orientation or gender identity. We are all one people, and that should be represented in some way in the work. If that’s something you can’t get behind, or you don’t like diversity, inclusiveness, equality for all peoples and cultures, this is not for you. If you are unsure if you’re doing it right, ask me or a PoC (Person of Color), or a marginalized group of people, someone will tell you.
Some Initial Advice
The first questions most potential new licensees ask are usually similar. Here’s some advice to help you down the path a little quicker. It’s especially helpful if you have all the below in tidy package before you apply.
Tell us about the game
Tell us what the game is about. Not too much detail, but enough to know if its derivative of something that already exists. Create an “Elevator Pitch,” something you can say to quantify what the game is about quickly. Then maybe a paragraph or two describing the game. If there are issues, we will help you correct them.
Show us what you’ve got!
Everyone has a great idea for a game, but many can’t execute or distill that idea into something we can comprehend. Notes for your home game are very different from a game book text. Give us a sample page of your book.
Show us the art.
This is where you will spend some money. Art is expensive, and good art even more so. Professional quality production requires professional quality art. The art should be inclusive and diverse.
Layout and Trade Dress
Good News! If you have a MYTHIC D6 License you get access to an InDesign file with the trade dress, and templates. This will do some of the work, but a good layout artist is vital. There are zillions of talented people out there, some in your immediate group if you look hard enough. Again, if you can’t find some, we will do our best to help put you in contact with people who can help.
What Happens Next?
Hopefully, it all works out, and you end up with a product using the MYTHIC D6 game system. We are here to help and to grow the hobby. YOU are an essential part, and we want to see that creative fire shine. If there is any question, please contact us.
* Aww Hell Naw, Karen!: A meme first seen on Saturday Night Live. I’ve adopted the saying to promote diversity. No one wants your bland ass potato salad.
